BOARD MEMBER, ROLAND NAMTVEDT is available and receptive to your calls, concerns and comments about Bayshore and activities, Saturday mornings from 8:00 AM - Noon. Roland can be reached at 850 457- 6711.
WELCOME ABOARD: Linda & John Hall have moved into Unit 206. This unit had quite a makeover thanks to the Halls, Jones & Jim Miller - another Bayshore plus!
MANAGER'S OFFICE: The use of the Patio & Bay Rooms MUST BE SCHEDULED with the Manager. You must be present & the rooms left clean. Also, renters, with the permission of the unit owners, can schedule the use of these rooms. Again, traffic must slow down (5 MPH) around the entrance & exit ways, the circle around the fountain & in/out of the garage! Watch out for slippery floors & pedestrians too.
WELLNESS CLINIC I: A Wellness Clinic is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. It will be in the Patio & Bay Rooms. Professional Medical Examiners, Inc. will provide SEASONAL flu ($25), pneumococcal (pneumonia - $35) & tetanus ($25) shots. It makes a LOT OF MEDICAL SENSE to get your vaccines at a place where the people are not sick in a waiting room; also, Bayshore is very fortunate to be obtaining these vaccines early in the season. It takes about 2 weeks after receiving a shot to develop full antibody protection, so early is better - especially this year with an influenza pandemic being declared in mid June! The shots are FREE if you have a Medicare Card, Part B or a SMALL FEE will be charged. Also, people with Well Care cards, will also be covered, but they have to file & this insurance does reimburse the full cost. If you do not have a Medicare Card, go to the Social Security Administration office at 411 Garden St. - then, it will take about 2 wks to get one in the mail. All other medical services provided at this time WILL BE ABSOLUTELY FREE! This is the first clinic and the purpose is to improve the health of Bayshore people by adding convenience. Flyers will indicate the services that day & sign up sheets will be provided. MARK IT ON YOUR CALENDAR-this is your Passport to good health! This is a VOLUNTARY PROGRAM - even if you don't want a shot or your blood pressure checked, come and enjoy the fellowship, fruit & cookies. If you miss it at Bayshore, these vaccines will also be available at the Riviera on Sept. 15, 10:00 - Noon. The Riviera has had this vaccination program for several years.
LARRY GREEN did a good deed and paid for a flat screen TV in the Patio Room. Some residents have helped with donations to Larry, but he is a little $$ short. He can be reached at 554-8684 and Unit 1202. We'd also like to get a DVD player for movies, but we need to cover the expenses of the T.V. first - HELP carry your part of the load!
LOST & FOUND: A red Kitchen Aid spatula was left in the Commons Kitchen - it is clean and awaiting its rightful owner. Also, a white dish with a "Crab" on it is clean & awaiting its owner too.
BALCONIES: Two glass coned-shaped globes have been "discovered" in the Maintenance Room. Check your balcony to see if you need one!
TECH INFO: Q How do I get my phone number on the National DO NOT CALL REGISTRY? A Online at www.donotcall.gov or the phone number is 888 382-1222. Both Mobile & home phones can be registered. TIP: Do this quickly!
THEY'RE BACK! In mid August, the National Air Museum, reached a mark of 4,000+ visitors daily- this is in line with pre Ivan attendance.
HURRICANE/STORM UPDATE: Already Ana, Bill, Claudette & Danny have gotten our attention. Hopefully, we won't see Erika, Fred or Grace, etc. either! Special thanks to Ruth Mendelsen & Stevens, our Maintenance Man who came in to help secure the poolside items, etc. Also, our military men were ready & able to help us move poolside items as additional backup help if more manpower was needed - THANK YOU LADIES & GENTLEMEN! The Tropical Storm Claudette was also "blogged" at www.bayshorecondominiums.com with timely reports of what was happening at Bayshore & surroundings. This venue to provide accurate in-house information may prove to be very valuable in the future.
DOORMEN: The dumpster is emptied on M, T, W, F & Sat. DO NOT PLACE furniture or appliances in the dumpster! Also, fold cardboard boxes, bring bagged seafood, diapers & other "smelly" items to the dumpster.
LAUNDRY ROOMS: The washers now take $1 (4 quarters) for a washing time of 22 minutes. The dryers are FREE, however, one must push the coin slot to start the dryer for 45 minutes of drying time. Do the right thing & clean the washing machine & empty the dryer's lint trap after usage.
RESIDENTS TIPS: Q Where can I find a good tailor? A Try FEMININE FLAIR, located on 1095 N. Navy Blvd. They are open M - F from (9:00 - 5:30) & Sat. 9:00 - Noon. They provide alteration & engraving services to Men & Women.
